Avatar: the Last Airbender is the only current US show I'm keeping up with right now, by downloading the episodes and watching them the day after. And now that I know the UK is ahead of the US and they're up to episode nine or ten of the new season over there, well. I see more downloading in the near future. *bounces*
Episode 5 ('The Beach') didn't really do much for me with its 80's high school movie feel, but I loved episode 6 ('The Avatar and the Firelord').
So, Iroh gave Zuko the crown prince's ornament thingy. (And incidentally, how much do I love Iroh for being so badass that he can keep priceless heirlooms in his prison cell?)
What with Toph's last line in the ep ("So, do you think friendships can last for more than one lifetime?") setting up the idea that Zuko and Aang could be friends like their forefathers, now I'm wondering if we will get to see Zuko give Aang the ornament, just like Sozen gave it to Roku as a symbol of their friendship.
I really want that. I want Zuko to start getting it together (and why oh why is he still asking Azula for information about anything?), I want Iroh to become Aang's firebending teacher and for Zuko and Aang to end up being friends, or at the very least working together to save the Four Nations.
Oh, and for Zuko's mom to not be dead and to come back and kick ass. That too.
If you're watching Avatar too, holler! What are you looking forward to?

Date: 2007-10-28 03:08 pm (UTC)Iroh having the ancient crown-prince's headpiece in his cell intrigues me. Maybe there's a rebellion who never believed that whole 'Ozai asks to be made heir since he has two children and Iroh is old and Lu Ten was killed, Auzulon throws him out of the throne room in a rage, and then dies leaving a note saying he changed his mind' thing.
Maybe the Lotus Pai Sho Tile Society has something to do with that.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had something to do with Iroh's getting hold of the crownprince's ornament thingy, either.

I'm looking forward to seeing more about the Lotus society. My belief is that a lot of this issue is related to the spirit world in some way, and that the four friends (five, once Zuko is a part of it) are replaying something that's happened before on a much grander scale.

Oh, most definitely. All those prison workouts seem ominous for whoever's in his way. *g* I love all the characters, but Iroh is still my very favorite.

Oooooo. That's something I hadn't considered, but it only makes sense that the spirit world has a part in the larger plot. Interesting.
