Hercules screencaps: "Descent" and "Mummy Dearest"

I've put up screencaps on my website for the Hercules: the Legendary Journeys episodes Descent and Mummy Dearest.

These are rather different episodes. Descent is the second season five episode, very bleak, continuing the theme of Iolaus' death and Hercules' descent into nightmare and madness. Mummy Dearest features Salmoneus' House of Horrors and the Egyptian princess Anuket who wants her Mummy back. But hey, one is set in Sumeria and the other in Egypt, it's a theme, right? *cough*



Screencapping Descent felt like a rerun, since I used a lot of this episode in my Dahak vid.



The pan (or zoom, or whatever it is) closing in on Hercules as he lies beside Iolaus' body, lost and alone...I love this scene, and it breaks my heart. Also, this:



*sniffle*

And then there's Hercules going off the deep end, throwing innocent embalmers into pillars, putting his fist through the wall, and doing some very moody canoeing:



where it looks like Nebula is the only one who's keeping him from going on a rampage.

And then she turns into a zombie (for a while! she got better!) and Hercules goes after Sumerian gods, and you realize that no, Nebula isn't enough either.



I took a lot of caps of Hercules wearing Iolaus' broken amulet.



Hercules gives up his last hope of getting Iolaus back. Woe.



WOE.

But Iolaus came back and everything turned out all right! Really!

Nice caps. But - oh! 'Descent.' Hard episode to watch or what?

'Mummy Dearest' is simply silly. But fun. :-)

Thanks! Yeah, it is hard to watch, though I do really really love the way they show us just how much Iolaus means to Hercules. And the lighting and the shots in this episode are so gorgeous. :is shallow: This was pretty much the last of the good-looking episodes in all of the Dahak arc, IMO. I find the later 'Dahak-Iolaus' episodes almost impossible to watch, because both the special effects and the storyline make me cringe.

Yeah, Mummy Dearest is fun for me too. Mostly because of Salmoneus and the way Anuket comes on to Hercules, who gets so uncomfortable. And the Mummy just coming back again and again. Heh.
