The bad news is that my Hercules season 5 DVDs were shipped January 13th and still haven't arrived here. Considering that [livejournal.com profile] laurashapiro's gorgeous vid DVD arrived here in four days' time, I think we can consider them lost. Not surprising, actually, once I discovered that the seller made a mistake in my postal code.

The good news is that they are sending me a new set free of charge. Now I do hope that this one will get here in the 10-20 days time range they promised...

In the meantime, does anyone have moments in Hercules season 5 that they would particularly like me to take screencaps of? Take it as read that I will be screencapping the first and the last episode (dying in Herc's arms and welcome back hug, in other words) until my fingers drop off. But in between those two, there are a lot of other episodes that I may or may not get around to - if you let me know you'd love to see a particular moment capped, I will give that first priority. Drop me an email at mcvices at gmail dot com, or comment below. :-)

Glad they're replacing the set for free.

The only moment in the fifth season that I'd like a screencap of (besides the hugs and so forth) is still in the last episode. It's when Hercules and Iolaus are fighting the stupid four horsemen, and there's a bit where they're both crouched side by side next to a tree. I don't think that's a pose or a shot we see them in before, and it's kind of cool, so I'd love to see caps of that.

Noted! I will look out for that moment. I've only seen that final episode twice at most, so I don't really remember that. And yeah, the whole Xtian plot and the horsemen were pretty stupid. But hey! Hercules got Iolaus back at last, and I will forgive the writers a lot for that hug. *g*

In the second episode, the beginning where Hercules is praying to the Sumerian gods to return Iolaus. Those scenes of grief are great. Also, the end when he realizes he's lost Iolaus and is sitting on the floor after destroying the Sumerian Death god.

Thanks!

There's a great shot in the season finale, Revelations (which is an episode I love to pieces, for obvious reasons) when Ares shows up again and doesn't believe that it's really Armageddon. After Ares zaps the cow, Hercules explains that they have work to do, Ares doesn't believe him, Hercules and Iolaus walk off saying stuff like "poor Ares is just gonna have to figure it out himself"-- "I envy him"-- "Envy him?"-- "Yeah, ignorance is bliss." And Ares glowers and says "I hate it when they do that" and zaps upwards, and this pigeon flops down onto his head. He looks up at his hair, and that expression is what I would like a screencap of. That and the silly grin after he zaps the cow, says "he shoots, he kills!", Hercules says "that was a cow" and Ares says "ultimate destruction"-- grin.

I also have a question: this screencap on your website: Image

It's listed under bloopers, but is the whole thing a blooper, or a cut scene, or a scene from an actual episode? If it's the latter, which episode?

Hey Olivia,

Sure, I'll make screencaps of Ares being a goof. I like that moment too. (And the quote is even better - or worse, depending on your POV - because as I recall it, Ares says "udder destruction". *g*)

The screencap is from the blooper disk that came with the Best Buy version of the 2nd season DVD set. However, the scene itself is from the 5th season episode "Descent", the second in the Dahak arc - Hercules is dreaming that he's pulling Iolaus from the grave, only it turns out to be Dahak. I just liked this shot too much not to cap it, the actual blooper (which I also took caps of) occurs a bit later, where Kevin Sorbo sticks his finger up Michael Hurst's nose and asks "Did you just fart?". It's not really a blooper, just them having fun together, like a lot of the blooper reel scenes. *g*
