The good news: My Hercules season 2 DVDs are here! (Many many thanks to
ltlj, who sent them winging across the ocean.)
The slightly less good news: They're not really here, they're at the post office, where I will pick them up just before closing time. I hope. If they didn't lose the package in the meantime. /wibble/
The other news: Today is the last day before NaNoWriMo, which means this is cosmic timing at its best. I have one guilt-free evening to watch those much-anticipated blooper reels and Iolaus kicking the crap out of the bad guys one-handed (this is the season where he spends most of his time with one arm in a cast). ETA: But then it's not very hard to kick one-handed, is it? /whaps self/ :-)
Of course, I could use a spur to keep me writing, or rather: a carrot. And what better reward for writing 2000 words a day than watching Hercules?
So: if anyone has particular screencap requests for H:tLJ season 2, bring them on. Just let me know the name of the episode and as much information as you can about the moment/shot/scene you want capped so that I'll know what to look for, in comments or in email. It doesn't have to be a Hercules or Iolaus shot or anything like that, just as long as it's in the Season 2 DVDs.
The only caveats are that I may or may not get around to it before December 1st, depending on how well I do at this NaNoWriMo thing, and that I will eventually put them up on my site - no exclusives. (Oh, and I do my best to get clear caps, but if it's a shot of a fight scene you're looking for, the chances are that it'll be blurred.)
I'll be putting up regular full-episode caps after December 1st.

Date: 2003-10-31 07:33 pm (UTC)I haven't watched all the eps from the Season 2 yet, but I had noticed no one mentioned the Featurette on disc 6.
Everyone was moaning about no Michael Hurst commentary, but that feature has interviews with Sorbo, Tappert, and Hurst...and he answers how much of Iolaus is Michael Hurst...no spoilers here, you'll have to just watch. :)

Date: 2003-11-02 02:21 am (UTC)But seriously, I love that scene - it's the perfect antidote to all those horrible 'Iolaus as pathetic victim' fanfics.
"Oh, you'll have to hit me a lot harder than that." Heh.

I'll have to think about this. I haven't had much chance to look at the dvds yet, but I was packing up my tape set to give away and checking to make sure all the tapes were actually there, and I hadn't realized how many good episodes were in this season. Even the clip episode, Cave of Echos, is great.
Oh, one scene that occurs to me is the one during "The Enforcer," after Iolaus has gotten almost killed, and he and Hercules are sitting on the bed talking. There's also a lot of good moments through that episode earlier, when they're at the festival, meeting Nemesis when Iolaus realizes who she is and bolts off, etc.

Date: 2003-10-31 10:53 am (UTC)And now they're really here. :-)
And I'm only typing this because SO went to get groceries and wants to watch the rest of The Apple with me, otherwise I'd still be glued to the TV.
/does happy bum-wiggle footy dance/
The blooper reel is, indeed, fabulous. And, as you say, so many good episodes.
"Enforcer" scenes noted and logged. These sound good, and I don't think I saw this episode more than once. Lots of good stuff to come...

Date: 2003-10-31 08:08 pm (UTC)Oh, and whenever you get around to screencaps, I'm also on the look out for slightly longer shots, where you can see both Hercules and Iolaus head to toe, if that makes sense. There might be some good ones at the beginning of The Enforcer, when they're walking up the hill right before the bad guys attack, but I don't have any particular episode in mind.

Date: 2003-11-01 03:10 pm (UTC)Gotcha. They do a lot of walking & talking together, of course, but generally those shots end up blurred. Better if they stand still. But I'll see what I can do. :-)
Iphicles!
Date: 2003-10-31 08:52 am (UTC)And good luck with the writing! You're a braver woman than I!
