Yeah, it does seem a shame that the extras aren't there -- the ones for HtLJ were a lot of fun, the blooper reel alone was worth the money for me, and I think they pulled out the stops even more for Xena.
On the other hand, not everybody cares about extras, and you're right, at least this way people can buy the dvds at a reasonable price.
