"Improper Dancing": vid comments and fandom list

I posted my Club Vivid vid Improper Dancing for download here. It's a multifandom vid, and several people have asked me to list the fandoms/characters involved. Here goes!

I grabbed a ton of sources for this vid, and wanted to have a lot more, but ran out of time before the deadline. This was my first multifandom vid, and I underestimated the time it takes to rip/download/borrow all the source material, and then crop and resize it all into fullscreen format. (As an aside, I should mention that I made a classic mistake and forgot to take Pixel Aspect Ratio into account, which means aspect ratio on most of the clips is skewed. I'm sorry about that. absolutedestiny has shown me how to deal with PAR correctly in the future, and has also posted a handy list of aspect ratio calculation tools.)

A whole lot of these clips are the result of brainstorming with other fans: many thanks to everyone who contributed, and especially to therienne and aka_arduinna for furnishing me with a boatload of source from their own collection.


Clip/fandom list, in order of appearance:

- Highlander: Duncan MacLeod trying and mostly failing to deal with plumbing, with Amanda in the background. I love his flaily hands. (Also, I love that Amanda is reading to him from a romance novel starring himself.)
- Pirates of the Caribbean: the Curse of the Black Pearl: Jack Sparrow trying and mostly failing to get rid of his shackles.
- Stargate: Atlantis: John Sheppard walks into a forcefield and gets smacked down by a Wraith.
- Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: young Indiana runs over a circus train and has a rhino encounter.
- Doctor Who: Nine and Rose run through a department store, desperate to get away from...
- Due South: Benton Fraser, in hot pursuit.
- Farscape: John Crichton and d'Argo wake up somewhat the worse for wear. therienne and aka_arduinna recommended this scene (not to mention gave me a better quality version than my pathetic downloaded one) and they were so right. I mined this whole episode shamelessly, as it also has wonderful drunken dancing and fire-spinning.
- Doctor Who: Captain Jack Harkness loses his clothes to makeover robots Trine-e and Zu-Zana. I am still not entirely convinced that they didn't show his naked buns in this scene, despite going over it twenty times for the vid. Snf.
- The Persuaders: Danny loses his towel to distract a bad guy. The fabulous team of Dorinda and Arduinna did a great job of Persuaders pimping, and in fact I went home from VVC with a set of Persuaders discs, yay!
- Life on Mars: A colleague of Sam Tyler's (erm, does anyone know his name?) does some spirited drunk boy dancing.
- The Fellowship of the Ring: Gandalf has a disco moment.
- Farscape: Crichton watches Chiana and Jool dance and then joins in.
- I Spy: Kelly Robinson dances a sirtaki and breaks a plate onto his head.
- Xena: Warrior Princess: Gabrielle in a crowd of dancing vampires (no, really), followed by an Amazon war dance.
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Middle-aged man (once again, I have no idea what his name is or if he has one) does a stagedive in the Bronze; Buffy and Willow look on, appalled.
- Hercules: the Legendary Journeys: Hercules invents Chuck Berry while Iolaus tries to pretend he is in another series entirely.
- The Princess Bride: Inigo Montoya versus the Man in Black (lefthanded!).
- Stargate SG-1: Cameron Mitchell versus a knight in armor.
- Pirates of the Caribbean: the Curse of the Black Pearl: Will Turner versus Jack Sparrow.
- Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones: Yoda versus Count Dooku.
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Buffy versus one of many bad guys in armor.
- Xena: Warrior Princess: Xena versus the world.
- Highlander: Duncan MacLeod, armed with a turkey leg, versus Terrence and his wooden spoon. Thanks to elynross for recommending this clip.
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Buffy stakes a vampire with a spatula. Hee.
- Star Trek: the Original Series: Spock fights a gladiator and gets arrested.
- The Princess Bride: the Man in Black has some trouble with Fezzik.
- Spider-Man: Peter Parker goes into slo-mo mode at school.
- Hercules: the Legendary Journeys: Hercules shoulder-presses Iolaus by way of waking him up.
- The Persuaders: Danny falls off the couch Brett is sitting on.
- West Wing: CJ falls into a pool, Toby reacts, CJ stomps back out and wraps her clothes around herself. (Can you tell I've never seen the show? *g* As with so many others, this clip came courtesy of therienne and aka_arduinna.)
- Shanghai Knights: Chon Wang pushes on a statue's nipple and gets caught by the revolving door, as does..
- Young Frankenstein: ...Dr. Frederick Frankenstein.
- Life on Mars: Gene Hunt makes an old lady's day.
- Sentinel: Jim Ellison smells a sheet; Blair reacts.
- Doctor Who: Ten smells a green lump of Dalek gloop; Martha reacts.

- Star Wars episode IV? Luke Skywalker plays with a spaceship model.
- Hercules: the Legendary Journeys: Hercules gets strafed by Atlantean airplanes (no, really).
- Firefly: Mal duels a guy in black.
- The Court Jester: Hawkins duels Ravenhurst.
- Highlander: Duncan Macleod fights er, some fop.
- Xena: Warrior Princess: Jace tells everyone to STOP...CONTINUE!
- Hercules: the Legendary Journeys: Hercules (in sequined matador outfit) dips his dance partner.
- Once A Thief: Another Nameless Guy attempts a flamenco dance move.
- Victor/Victoria: Toddy camps it up while one of his matadors falls into a fountain.
- In and Out: Howard Brackett is a dancin' fool. I could've just grabbed all three minutes of this dance sequence and shoved the music under, it is that fabulous. (As with all the best clips, found for me by therienne and aka_arduinna.)
- Jeffrey: half-naked waiter sex, er, dance sequence. (Guess who found this clip for me?)
- The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Frank 'n' Furter examines Rocky's pectorals.
- Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi: the alien orchestra strikes up.
- The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Frank's crowd does the Time Warp.
- Heroes: Peter Petrelli is about to take off, as is...
- The Matrix:...Neo, and
- Xena: Warrior Princess: a winged Gabrielle.
