Happily more people have seen the latest episode of Doctor Who ("Blink") today, because I just want to squee some more. Also show off the t-shirt I made.
That theory I posted on Saturday about the origins of the episode's story (spoilers in link!) is totally confirmed, yay! I watched the Doctor Who Confidential after and the writer for this episode, Stephen Moffat, mentioned it in passing.
This was a very fun Doctor Who Confidential, btw, and well worth watching - it's David Tennant going around interviewing Who writers, actors and production people about their own connection to the show, and what it was like to watch it as kids. Lots of clips of all the various Doctors and monsters, some of it in vid form (where they really could've used a good vidder, ahem.)
And since I have been messing with fabric paints and stenciling anyway, I had to make a "Blink" t-shirt. I am so happy with this, even though nobody watches Who in the Netherlands and I probably won't meet anyone who gets it. It's just. YAY SHIRT!
Back of the shirt (your basic boring beige t-shirt that I probably should've ironed for the photo):

Then...
I went a bit overboard. Or not. But I do love how it came out:
Front of the shirt:

The TARDIS is from the BBC, who have awesomely provided a ready-for-use stencil for kids to make t-shirts with, and I made the angel stencil myself, using this photograph by Ryan Greenberg of a cemetary angel. Her fingers are broken, which I could have corrected, but I left them as is, because to me an angel with broken fingers is ever so much scarier.
(I must add, DO NOT SEARCH FLICKR for photos of 'sad angel statue' or 'weeping angel statue' after having watched this episode because the things you will find are terrifying. Like this. Or this. Or (gaaaah) this...)

Date: 2007-06-11 05:02 pm (UTC)And I'm sorry about the pictures, but I just had to share. *g* Moffat only had to twist a little bit, because these things are damn scary all on their own... He did write us a brilliant ep, though, go him.
