marycrawford: 13 hour clock icon (iolaus long day)
[personal profile] marycrawford
Even with the fantastic Avatar: the last Airbender icons I got from [livejournal.com profile] aka_arduinna, I still have many icon slots to fill (yay!), so I made a few Hercules icons that I like enough to share.

As always, feel free to modify these in any way, and credit is lovely, but I'm not going to internet-sue if you forget or anything.

4 regular icons (Iolaus, Gabrielle, Ares and Hercules)

8 comic book icons (Iolaus, Hercules, Cassandra, Nebula and Autolycus)

The comic book icons were all made with the aid of [livejournal.com profile] not_a_painter's terrific Photoshop tutorial, and I used my own screencaps.

Hey, thanks! And that tutorial is very helpful, even for a noob like me. (Who may just have made another icon. Ahem. It's not like I'm avoiding Yuletide or anything.)

Thanks! They are a lot of fun to do. It makes me want to do a HtLJ comic, but that would take for-freakin-ever.

Thank you. I like to blame it on spikeface, who came up with the quote. But really it's Doctor Hui's fault because I made it while I was avoiding studying for her economics final.

Totally agree!

I wonder what the over/under on that thought a week is? 5? 10? 25? *g*

These icons are great! I don't suppose you did this on PSP and have any handy tips to share? Because I've tried seven times now and it's. not. working. ::kicks computer::

Alas, I did use Photoshop and the tutorial mentioned above. It may not translate well to PSP. :(

The only thing I can think of is looking in the help window for PSP equivalents to the crucial PS filter - Posterize, which adds the black edges - and to the PS Treshold option, which turns everything black and white and lets you set the contrast. I am so, so not an expert, alas.

I think it's the Posterize that's doing me in. I've got the Threshold option, but I've yet to come up with a function that gives me such solid lines.

Yay another pretty icon!
