Yuletide WHEE

After I played through Portal recently, I had to make myself this Yuletide icon. (Portal is fantastic, by the way. I would recommend it to anyone who loves witty puzzle games and fiendishly clever game design and writing.)

So, signups for Yuletide have started! And they will be open until next Monday, which is good, because I need some time to wibble about my writing choices and figure out what to ask for. (I have to say, the pile of wonderful stories I was showered with last year makes it really difficult to decide this year. I'm not sure I should even be allowed to ask for anything.)

In the meantime, I have updated my Yuletide for Newbies post with the dates for this year. I wrote this post as an unofficial starting point for people who are new to Yuletide, so please comment if you have questions!

And if you want distraction from the election news (I cross my fingers for you, US people!), there is the Yuletide Fandom Requests page with its reassuring colors, showing which fandoms people have already signed up to write or are hoping to receive. It makes me want to wave at people who request or offer my favorite fandoms, even though I don't know who they are. *waves*
