Am in the process of making screencaps from Gladiator (The H:tLJ ep, not the execrable movie). It's very hard to get clean caps with this one, I dunno why, so I made some icons to cheer myself up.
Even though the plot of 'Gladiator' is more than a little hinky, as referenced by the icon, I still love this episode. All the minor characters really come alive - I love Gladius' dignity and the wonderfully warped relationship between Postera and Maxius. I can't believe they got away with showing all that bondage equipment in Postera's bedroom.
There's also a lovely subtexty relationship between the proud-but-wounded gladiator Gladius and his young, goodlooking fellow prisoner Leutis. Leutis gazes up at Gladius tenderly while bandaging him, adjusting his armor and generally getting deeply into his personal space. Eventually, of course, he hits Gladius over the head and fights in his place, to keep Gladius from getting himself killed. Shades of Patroklos there, especially since he dies and Gladius all but goes mad with grief. I took quite a few caps of these two.
