Insta-reaction to new Who

Have just watched the new Doctor Who episode, and...


...I liked the story a lot, especially the way it opens with the creepy crack in the wall and voices and things appearing out of the corner of one's eye, and I like Amelia and everything -- but good grief, the new Doctor is even more self-centered than the last one was at the end of his journey. 

Eleven isn't just a smug git, he's also just plain creepy and rude, asking a little girl to cook him food and then spitting it out again until he finds a combination he likes, and then coming back 14 years later all "sorry I'm late, but I know you don't have any parents and you don't feel like you fit in here, and you've dreamed about me all this time, so I know you'll come with me now." It's like How To Groom Your Companion In Three Easy Steps. Eep. Also, that bit with the apple? Er. I'm really hoping Moffat is going somewhere unexpected and awesome with this.
