Hercules fans, please help me locate this clip!

Dear Hercules: the Legendary Journeys fans, please help me figure out which episode this Hercules clip occurs in?

It's used in Hair, a terrific Media Cannibals vid from the VCR era that gwyn is remastering, and if I can find the right episode, I can give her the DVD version for her remaster.

All we've got is this very short clip. A floor of dry leaves, some possible buildings in the background, and Hercules doing a forward shoulder roll. Very generic.

But: if you slow the clip down frame by frame, you can just see that Hercules is wearing Iolaus' amulet. Which I thought meant that the clip must be from Descent, the second Dahak arc episode in season 5, but I've been through it twice already and I can't find the damn clip. If you remember, Hercules starts wearing Iolaus' amulet in the beginning of that episode, and then hands it back to Nebula at the end and sails off to Ireland for shenanigans with Morrigan.

So, is there another episode I've forgotten about where Hercules also wears Iolaus' amulet? Or am I off track entirely?

Gosh, that's hard to see. Are you sure that's Iolaus' amulet, and not some other random amulet? ETA Or a wayward leaf?

I'm thinking those possible buildings have the feel of him coming out of somewhere underground, not any of the villages or similar, but I could be wrong. Of course, there must be some great big door or stone thing closing behind him that we don't see in the clip, right? Or some baddie about to step into the frame right after the clip?

Hmmm. Time for me to break out the DVDs tonight, methinks.

FWIW, that clip is nowhere in the episodes in the first three disks of season 4.

Just had another random thought before sleep claims me... systematically checking every Hercules episode might not find that clip, if it's from an episode of Xena where he guest-starred.

I'll continue the hunt tomorrow, and I do have all of the Herc and Xena DVDs.

Thank you so much for joining the hunt! I really really appreciate it. And yeah, I am not 100% sure that it IS Iolaus' amulet -- I thought I could see it had the right color and shape and everything, but after all it's just blurry pixels. For all I know it's a leaf, sigh. As far as I can remember, Hercules never wears anything around his neck in other eps.

Xena crossover eps: there's only three, Prometheus (very early on), The Quest (where Hercules doesn't appear) and God Fearing Child, where I think Hercules' hair might be too short to fit the clip, judging from screenshots. However, I don't have Xena dvds (having sadly failed to buy them at just the right time), so I can't really check. And there are several Xena clips in the vid (one of Xena hugging Gabrielle in what looks like a pile of straw) so it's just possible that they are all from the same episode? Fingers crossed.

I can check those two Xena eps that Herc appears in tonight after work, easy! And then I'll keep working my way through HtLJ S4.
