First line drabble meme

ltlj and all over my friends list: the meme where you take the first line of someone else's story and use that in a drabble. Any fandom, any rating.
The drabble I did using one ofltlj's first lines is here, and here are a bunch of my own first lines:
Hercules rolled over on the heap of straw and sat up, surprised.
I’m going insane.
Iolaus nearly spit out his wine when he heard the news.
Clotho spins, Lachesis weaves, Atropos cuts.
They'd made an early camp, intending to leave before dawn.
"I hate digging," Iolaus muttered.
The ravine got darker with every echoing footstep.
Iolaus woke because a feather was tickling his nose.
Iolaus counted stars, using the rhythm of Hercules' measured breaths.

Dr. Boyfriend keeps promising that we're going to be independently wealthy one day. Maybe then I can find the time to write. Of course, if I spent less time *reading* fics that would probably help.
