Twankey screencaps up!
I uploaded x-nay screencaps for "And Fancy Free...", the fourth season Hercules episode that introduces the Widow Twankey, to my site here.
I love this episode so much - it's unrelieved over the top sexy silliness and it works. The slo-mo Coca Cola Light Break scene featuring a half-naked, sweaty, flexing Hercules drinking lemonade suggestively. The little dance Willa does in the background of the shot when her father graciously allows Hercules to sleep over. Every single Twankey moment. Hercules in the glittery outfit. Willa going vamp. No, not Willow, that's a different series. *g*
(For those who don't know: Michael Hurst directed this episode. He dropped his usual role as Hercules' best friend Iolaus to play the Widow Twankey, Hercules' dance teacher. She's a classic pantomime dame - Michael had just done a panto in NZ - and speaks mainly in double entendres. She is also quite smitten with Hercules.)
Note: please click on the thumbnails to go directly to the large version.
Lifting polystyrene logs is hard work, baby.
Twankey singing in a surprising soprano. *g*
Twankey checking whether Hercules is happy to see her.
Who can resist this shot?
OK, so they're stuntpeople. That's still a very cool moment. :-)
Hercules needs help.
Twankey in festive gear, looking touched at how well her students are doing
Willa, being dipped quite spectacularly by Hercules. These two are for
halimede, who was mesmerized by this scene.
Hercules attempting to make a run for it and failing. Demigods are no match for Twankey.

Favourite bits:
- Herc's "Do I know you?" when he first meets Twankey. Hee!
- "Don't you pardon me me you. I shall pardon me you into the middle of next week." I simply love Michael's delivery here.
- the whole "Imagine I'm Iolaus - I know it's a stretch of the imagination" bit. How they managed to keep a straight face, I'll never know.
- the stunned look on both Herc and Twankey's faces when he pulls Twankey over his back, just like he does with Iolaus.
- the way Twankey grabs every opportunity to grope Hercules. I love the bit where she jumps away from Herc as if he's grabbed her ass and Herc holds up his hands in protest that they weren't anywhere near her. Always cracks me up that, no matter how many times I've seen it.
- the whole OTT-ness of the final dance-sequence.
Oh, I love all of it actually. Such a fun episode. And thanks for making me watch it again after quite a while.

I'm so glad these had such a good effect on you. And love the list of favourite bits - I think these are all mine too.
I cannot see the "I know it's a stretch, but" scene without cracking up. And the grope. And the "I don't - twirl". And all Herc's helpless looks. And "How they manhandled me!...And it's been so long!" just kills me.

I have to put it simple and short like that because I'm normally not allowed to be on-line ( what with the fast approaching dead-line and such ).
But of course I had to sneak a peek at the new screencaps, which brings us back to the beginning.
D R O O L W O R T H Y!
little nitpick: the picture on the entry-page ( where I landed after clicking 'here' ) only leads to picture *nfa055.jpg*. I changed the url to *page1.htm* to get to the pics - and boy, was it worth the little detour! But I thought I'll let you know about it anyway.

Ooops. Thanks for pointing that out - am running off to fix. And believe me, I'm always very grateful to hear stuff like this.
