marycrawford: 13 hour clock icon (mary)

But mom, everyone else is doing it!

I was strong enough to resist the last 'icon by numbers' meme, but this time I succumbed. It even looks like me, sorta.

To keep this from being a GIP, I draw your attention to a transcript of a terrific National NZ radio interview with Michael Hurst here on MichaelHurstNow.com. Lots of other MacBeth-related interviews and things there, but I loved this one.

Interviewer: "By the pricking of my thumb, something wicked this way comes" . . .

MH: Mm hmm . . .

Interviewer: . . . and there he is in front of me.

MH: I am. Eating tuna.

and:
MH: I've dreamt about murdering my children, he said horribly, doing this play, but, you know, I don't walk around being Macbeth; that's kind of . . .

Interviewer: Well, you can't carry all that . . .

MH: Well, I think any actor that does that's being a bit (whispers) of a wanker, actually. But we won't go there.

Oh god. I can't wait to hear that interview. :-) Eating tuna indeed!

I haven't even found where this new icon maker thingy is. Oh well. I'm horrible with things artistic. I'm so lucky [livejournal.com profile] killabeez made this one for me. :->

I can't wait to hear that interview. :-)

Alas, it's a transcript - not the actual interview. But I did mail the radio company asking if they had a digital version. Ya never know. If it so happens that they do, I'll put it up.

I haven't even found where this new icon maker thingy is.

Sorry, should've added link to icon thingy. Here (http://illustmaker.abi-station.com/index_en.shtml) 'tis.

I tried making one of these, and it didn't look like me *at all*. Oh well. Nice french twist there. If you like those, I'm planning to go to another craft fair in September. No, this isn't a rapid change of subject: The horn french twist combs were about 16 euros. I could bring one back for you, if you want one. I find it easier to realize a true french twist (with good hold) with it than with any other clip/stick/comb.

I added your excellent hair post to my Memories, so I do know what you're talking about. *g* (I was just too pooped to respond, sorry.)

And the German wood/horn stuff sounds and looks terrific - I lust after everything, combs, french twist thingy, brushes, you name it. I've never owned anything really spiffy hair-wise, and feel that this is a lack in my life. Is this craft fair in Amsterdam, she asked innocently?

Nope, it's in Germany, where they have really cool craft fairs. :)
Make a shopping list and I will bring things. Or kick me closer to the day, we might have space left over in the car if you want to come. Kinda depends on what else we need to bring, and that, as always, depends on my joints and stuff.

Cool, thanks! Will do.

(Would love to come with, but September being my busiest month it's probably not a good idea. *g*)

[identity profile] halimede.livejournal.com 2004-06-10 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure. Make sure you come over at least once before then, so you can see what I've got, and make decisions based on actual stuff. :) And if that isn't enticing enough, how about I throw some fresh herbs and stuff into the bargain? *g*

Also, I'm writing a sex scene, how about you?

Make sure you come over at least once before then

I think we can manage that. :-)
Aw! That reminds me, I still have to pot the rosemary and thyme and mint. They all have little roots now.

Also, I'm writing a sex scene, how about you?

Yay, glimmery goodness!

And um, no. No sex scenes. 2000 words of 'where the hell is this going?', yes. But I've figured out by now that this is SOP for me. Will feel better when I've figured out the plot as well, though.

But there's wordcount. Good. :)

Me, I have formulated whole new theories of porn and genre and the merits of writing porn in it's own (erotica) genre versus mixing them up, and everything like that. And...

...this (http://userpic.livejournal.com/15115697/1292990) is the blowjob look I was talking about. Guh.
