Multifandom Secret Santa!

Have signed up for [livejournal.com profile] tzikeh's multifandom secret santa, which was inspired by the popslash one. You request a couple of pairings in various less-well-known fandoms (I picked Hercules and Hornblower, plus a bonus one which shall be nameless here forevermore) and mention which pairings you are willing to write a 1000+ word story for.

I had to dig deep to come up with more than one for the latter category, since I read a number of fandoms that I couldn't write in to save my life. I do hope I can write something decent, or at least something that isn't the fic equivalent of the scratchy too-tight pink acrylic sweater when you were hoping for a cashmere shawl.

NaNoWriMo is having a strange effect on me (1146 words so far and still at it, thank you); I don't think I'd have dared to sign up for something like this earlier, but Forward momentum! is now the cry du jour.

(Damn. I should have added Miles/Bel to both categories. Oh well.)

Maybe you should contact the challenge people and ask them if they can still add Miles/Bell? I'm sure they'd be happy with the extra pairing, 'cause it sounds like this is gonna be a hard to assign challenge as it is... I was pleased to see B7 listed, though. :)

Any chance you might whisper the forever nameless one for extremely-to-the-point-of-combustible curious people? ;)

Yeah, you're right, I should probably do that. I do hope they get enough people on board that even improbable pairings will find a home.

Now which part of 'nameless here forevermore' did you fail to understand, hmmm? As for the spontaneous combustion, just put on a holocaust cloak, you'll be fine. :-)

The here part seemed to suggest there is a way to smuggle the information out in another forum.

Miles/Bel! I long for Miles/Bel!

Me too. :-)

Mind you, it may be a tad ambitious for me to think of writing it. But clearly someone has to.

Yay! Go you! :-)

Thanks! I'm nearly at 6000 words, so it's working.

Miles/Bel would be seriously cool.

Congrats, that's a great amount! Are you still working on that Herc story you mentioned about the Symphalion Birds too? I thought that sounded really interesting.

[identity profile] marycrawford.livejournal.com 2003-11-03 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the encouragement.

Yes, the Stymphalian Birds story is still on the menu. But I'm only allowed to work on it after I've done my daily quota, so progress is v. slow. We're talking continental drift here. But that will probably change at the end of November. :-)

BTW, since Stymphalos is in Arcadia anyway, would you mind if I make a few references to your 'Arcadia' story with the evil forest?

Sure, go for it! It'll be cool to see how you reference it.

Great, thanks!
