Heads-up for the HtLJ fans

DeepDiscountDVD has a buy-one-get-one-free sale until the 21st. (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] elynross for the tip!)

The sale includes all season box sets of Hercules: the Legendary Journeys, which means you can buy two seasons of HtLJ for 18 dollars total.

They've also got all the Xena and Highlander box sets; those are a bit pricier, but 30 dollars for two seasons is still a pretty good deal.

Shipping is free for USians, for the rest of us it's still fairly cheap. Note: I've ordered from DDD before and found their service reliable, but their shipping erratic: one box set never arrived, and they sent me a free replacement that appeared to have traveled via Sweden.

Don't post things like this. I mean, it's too late for me, but you could still save others!

I found the sale like a week and a half ago, which meant that two days ago I had to explain to Best Beloved how we had come to be the proud possessors of all six seasons of Highlander, even though I don't watch TV shows except by proxy (i.e., BB watches them and tells me what happened, sometimes showing me the gayest bits) or with loads of help (also from BB), and BB doesn't want to watch Highlander. (Also, I completed our Hercules collection and bought the first season of Xena.)

And it was hard to explain, because I still don't know why I did it. It was late! The entire order cost $119! It seemed so obvious at the time!

But you will appreciate this, I think. The HL box sets came with - well, season six came with a Highlander Sword Letter Opener offer.

But season four of HL came with a Hercules Sword Letter Opener offer.

I think someone, somewhere, is on to us fangirls.

Heee! Yes, that is kind of awesome. And I snicker at your DVD buying habits, but I understand them too - it's just so tempting to buy stuff to have. And it was right there! And cheap! Well, you know. Cheap compared to really expensive things! Yeah.

I'm not a fan of it, but Highlander is a fun show, and has produced some of the best vids I've seen - you can easily pick up the whole McLeod/Methos arc just from watching vids by Killa et al. I know I did. *g*

Thanks for the heads up - I was in the market for buying all of Xena :)

Cool! Hope they get to you right speedily.

You are *EVIL*!!!!

But I finally picked up the last two HL sets I needed (S6 and Raven).

Yay you!

PS: am so not evil. I have it on the authority of a bunch of anonymous people that I am a very nice person. So there!

anonymous-schnonymous. And nice doesn't necessarily mean not evil!!

I bought my missing four seasons of Herc two weeks ago and they arrived just in time for my b-day! Maybe I was a fluke, but they seemed to ship out very quickly.

[identity profile] marycrawford.livejournal.com 2007-02-16 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, cool! And yeah, you never know, maybe they have more trouble shipping to Europe or something.

[identity profile] ruric.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhh - I already have my Highlander and Hercules thanks to two for one offers from suppliers before. But I have been considering finally caving and buying Xena (if only for Marton Csokas, Karl Urban and Kevin Smith). *G*

[identity profile] marycrawford.livejournal.com 2007-02-16 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
I must admit I had to look up Marton Csokas. Boreas! Oh yeah, I liked him too. And Kevin Smith, always. :-)

I will resist acquiring shiny things, I will resist acquiring shiny things...

Did you see [livejournal.com profile] cruisedirector's valentine this year?

[identity profile] marycrawford.livejournal.com 2007-02-16 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man. That is fantastic! Hee hee hee. And Ares, God of (Greek) Love is very recognizable.

Wow. The last two seasons of Hercules needed for my collection for $17.99 and free shipping. I'm ecstatic, but I'm also somewhat ashamed at what I paid for the other seasons.

[identity profile] marycrawford.livejournal.com 2007-02-16 10:00 am (UTC)(link)
Awww, go with the ecstatic part! If it makes you feel better, I paid about $50 for each, and the shipping to the Netherlands wasn't cheap either.
