Ah, I succumbed to the many pics and gifsets yesterday and watched the first episode of The Rebel (though I hadn't meant to watch the series at all, for several reasons - it appears I overestimated my resistance to crying Zhu Yilong and a show with an actual budget etc...). I do know one person who's watched it and updated me on the level of knives to be expected.
