Obviously, I loved your meditation on the pleasure of serials. I think I picked up my taste for serial fiction reading marvel comics as a wee little one, like those story arcs in Avengers that could last for a year or more. Tragically, I didn't read Sandman until the stories were published as a collection, but I remembered the childhood pleasure of living with a story for so long as I waited for the next installment, and have wished I was reading them all along.
